daisy for nagayoshi, oak for natasha & zinnia for calcharo
daisy : did your muse ever feel as though their innocence had been lost ? what moment in their life could be described as the end of their innocence ?
That’s such a good question, really. If anyone were to ask Nagayoshi this, he honestly would be at a loss for a few moments because the concept of ‘innocence’ is difficult for him to grasp as he has never viewed himself this way. When his father died, he was about thirteen years old, thrust into being head of his clan and already having responsibilities placed on his shoulders. Then he went to war for the first time at fifteen… To him, this was his normal. This is the reality of all children of samurai during the Sengoku Era, and thus, he doesn’t focus on the fact he didn’t really have much of a childhood as that just was not in the cards for him.
oak : who would your muse consider the strongest person they know ?
There are soooo many people that Natasha considers strong that she could honestly name off the top of her head. Said individuals are those that have pushed forward even though it was so hard to do so. However, if she did have to pick one person, then she would say that individual is Bronya for a variety of reasons.
zinnia : how has the loss of fallen comrades and/or loved ones affected your muse ? has it taught them anything or given them any new perspectives ?
You would think that such loss would make him distant from others, and though he is to an extent, it isn’t in the way where he would prefer to be alone. He is used to that feeling of being in a group, especially since he had formed the Underdogs exactly for that reason as a child. It was safer to be with other likeminded individuals rather than trying to survive all by yourself, and this has translated into how he looks after his Ghost Hounds as well. Loss is very hard for him, but it is an eventuality for all who take up the mantle of ‘mercenary’. No matter how skilled they may be, death is always there, even for himself. Rather than sit still and mourn, he takes the dog tags of those who passed, keeps those who have no family to himself, or gives them to a close comrade, and simply remembers them. That is the least he can do. The only perspective he has gained is that nothing is forever, and to treasure what you have while you have it.
