not listening to any "is kamala harris electable" rhetoric. fucking anybody is electable if we show up and vote for them. we have the numbers if we show up, it has been proven over and over again. it is as simple as that.

im sorry she's not perfect and that the democrats in general are largely ineffectual trash but this "if we can't protect everybody the only moral choice is to protect nobody" stuff is such obvious bait. you are being conned and if you buy into it you should be embarrassed.

they were wildly out on reform - predicted to get 13, got 4 - and a little under on the greens, predicted 2 and got 4 - but otherwise its incredibly accurate. they'll learn from this time and hopefully make it even more accurate next time

As people scramble to blame third party voters, or nonvoters, or certain demographics, or Kamala's campaign, please remember the harsh truth: The election turned out the way it did because Americans prefer fascism. It turned out the way it did because our country is built on racism. It's built on misogyny. It's built on oppression. This is the way America is, and to change it we need to change way more than just our voting behavior.

I'm very tired of seeing us identify imperfect leftism as the villain of the story. It's going to be imperfect, and the imperfect leftism of people trying their best is literally all we have.

I get that liberals are frustrating if you're hard left. I get that leftists are frustrating if you're a liberal. I get that you specifically are the very best political strategist ever and would've engineered it all perfectly if you were in charge. But it's over now, and that shit is not helping us prep for what's coming. 72,725,000 Americans chose fascism. And that's a problem no matter how third party voters or non voters or whoever else you're mad at voted.

Please find people to be in coalition with and commit to them. Find imperfect allies. And find "good enough."

Local/state results:

looks like it's not officially called yet but Jesse Arreguin has a substantial lead, for State Senate district 7.

Looks like the california department of elections isn't calling anything yet, but at least provisionally: rent control lost, affordable housing lost, minimum wage lost, no forced prison labor lost, and increased sentencing for certain crimes won. Although, 35 (medical funding) won, which might be good, and prop 3 (marriage equality even if the supreme court decision goes down in flames) won, but that's not much of a consolation, of course prop 3 was going to win. It does have over 60% of the vote, so that's something, I guess. Anyways, mostly a disaster, some reasonable bond measures passed.

And 34, the revenge against the Aids Healthcare Foundation proposition, passed. A fucking disaster.
