There is still no clear and sustainable pathway to manage the e-waste generated by EVs. Electric cars are not "green". They still use tyres which create massive waste streams. Tyre wear produces microplastics that end up in our waterways and oceans. Although EVs use regenerative braking, which is better than traditional internal-combustion cars, they still use brake pads when the brakes are applied. Braking generates toxic dust composed of heavy metals like mercury, lead, cadmium and chromium. These heavy metals make their way to our streams and rivers, embedding themselves in these waterways forever.

I get the hype around Elon Musk, but that guy is pretty much one of the biggest reasons EVs arent the standard today.

The "chargers" he insists to use for Tesla are not only NOT the standand, but SLOWER and WORSE than the standard "chargers". Yes, they're less bulky, but thats like insisting on eating soup with a toothpick instead of a spoon because a toothpick is "less bulky".

One of the biggest reasons that EVs arent that popular is that there arent enough charging stations around. If Teslas just used the standard "chargers", this probably wouldn't be the case since pretty much everyone would be able to use the same charger.

For those who still don't get it: Imagine if gas stations were like this. Let's say 50% of gas stations can only refuel Mazdas. If you drive a Mazda, you wouldnt be able to drive x km since you'd run out of gas at 0.8x km. There is a gas station at 0.6x, but you can't use it since it doesnt refuel Mazdas. THIS IS WHAT ELON HAS DONE FOR EVs.

Tesla is like the Apple of EVs but worse. Yes, it's cool. But the fact that they require non-standard chargers means that you cant travel from point A to point B because YOU CANT FUCKING CHARGE YOU CAR BECAUSE OF TESLA.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Tesla. But that shit's just wrong! He's basically requiring 2x the amount of infrastructure for NO GOOD REASON. HIS "CHARGERS" ARE SLOWER AND JUST GENREALLY WORSE THAN THE STANDARD.
