Scalos: Dragons don't play well with others

Striding slowly back to the beach nearest his underwater hive, Scalos’s eyes couldn’t help but be drawn to the stranger on the sands. Someone a little too close for his comfort. Not that it looked like they could get down there. From behind, they didn’t seem to have fins. And their blood was a little hard to tell from back there. In either case, an unpleasant surprise was in store for them.

Pupils contracting quickly to slivers, his wings and claws manifested themselves in small gouts of flame, their tattooed representations coming to life. Taking two quick steps, he took off in a gust of wind and the loud flapping of his leathery wings. It would be obvious he was there now. Good. It wouldn’t be any fun if they had no warning.
