This isn’t the first time the sounds of the digital realm have been used as the building blocks with which to build electronic landscapes, but Manila’s similarobjects does it pretty well on this tune. He used a built-in microphone to capture sounds of a Facebook user typing and an app to record the sounds from an internal soundcard. From there similarobjects was able to piece together this high-concept EP, described as: “some kind of musique concrete or internet concrete if u please”.
