Didn't mean to disappear for so long after Art Fight-- whoops

Elemental Neon is finally getting that redesign I've been struggling with for like two years. I didn't even post my prior drafts because I've been so unhappy with them ack

Having to come up with--over a hundred magical girl designs, if we're working with periodic table elements--I figure that each group of Elementals would have similar themes in their designs. For example, Noble Gas Elementals could share a noble/royal theme--for self-explanatory reasons. I knew I wanted their outfits to be primarily a neutral base color (black, gray, or white), and one secondary color (whatever color their respective element glows). Take Elemental Argon for example.

I had always associated Elemental Neon with black-- I thought it complimented the red the best, and fit her personality better. But what if I made all Nobles have white as their primary outfit color? Then, when they all stand side-by-side, you can really tell they're in the same group?

From there, a new concept design for Elemental Neon came surprisingly easy, and an Elemental Argon recolor came soon after. Look, they match!

Whoop! Elemental Argon is back with an updated concept design--and some color!

This character's been around since like- 2012-2013- when I was first working on this story. She's had a significant rework since, but she's kept her color palette and tomboyish vibes... and an arsenal of science puns. She's one of the few Elementals that've actually taken an interest in science and chemistry prior to becoming a magical girl.

Elemental Helium and Elemental Argon concepts! …They need more work—

I imagine the Elementals could “share” their powers with each other- like bonding elements- they would grow more powerful and unlock new abilities when they work together.

Noble Gasses, like helium and argon, are unable to do this; their elements are very stable and thus physically incapable of bonding to others. However, this also means these girls can freely use their abilities in most any circumstances with little influence.
