He hovered in the air, keeping a little under half of his attention on the new guy. He hadn't seen this dude a day in his life and the guy just... fucking metaphorically ate some of his weapons. His weapons. Not Hammer Industries K-Mart Special. His. That kinda stung a little.
Sir, It appears that this individual is - "Yes I know JARVIS, I have eyes! Snacking on what I've thrown at him like it's candy. What is this shit? Kinetic manipulation? How the hell is he doing that?" The absurdity would be a little bit funny if he wasn't sweating bullets from what he had just seen. Then again, this guy might just pop those into his gob as a snack too.
Despite his better judgement he made sure to be within hearing range for the stranger. That and he was buying his time for some of these scans to complete. He needed an edge here. "So you want to give me a name or do you just wanna keep playing Pac Man with the pulsar beams? I can't imagine they taste great, and nobody really knows where they are on the food pyramid. Have you had all your macros for the day by now?"

"i advised president coin that your weapon would not be ready until tomorrow. the timeline has not changed, if that's why you're down here..." beetee says, eyes locked on the electronics directly in front of his face. he knew it was gabriel without turning to see, almost as if he had eyes in the back of his head.
truthfully, it was the simple reflection of the younger man's face in his own glasses, but he liked to let folks think it was simply eyes in the back of his head.
the thought makes him chuckle softly.

Leaned back against the seat of one of the creaky old chairs lining the wall of the laundromat, Ben tilted himself back, balancing his weight on the back legs of the seat and stared with folded arms at the endless spin cycle of the machine in front of him.
His brows raised lazily and tired green eyes turned their attention towards the doorway to silently judge the new face intruding on his quiet solace. But recognition followed on his judgmental heels and a wide smile cracked apart his stormy demeanor. “Would you look at what the cat fuckin’ dragged in…” his tone drawled out in gruff content and he stood from the seat to his socked feet in the blink of an eye.

There was always going to be struggles. Again and again he meets an impenetrable and unstoppable force. And somehow, he always manages to endure. It's because he has to. There was no option for failure when lives were on the line. He's become resourceful and had a sense of desperation to him that he couldn't quite shake off. Steve was very much committed to seeing himself breaking before he ever allowed wrongdoers to succeed. His heart guided him, expanding the lengths he would go to; and ultimately it served him well.
"I understand," He says after a moment to catch his breath as his blue eyes flicker up towards the other, "But we cannot just stop. We have to keep going. It doesn't end like this."
