Rufus Shinra had thrown a formal event to improve relations among his business partners, leaving the Turks on guard duty around the room. Tseng remained by his side - where his bodyguard and leader of the Turks should naturally be, Rude was stationed by the door - a big man like him could deter anyone from trying anything funny, Reno was stationed on the balcony - his keen sight watching for strange happenings, and Elena was stationed on the floor - mixing with people and ready to deal with anything at a moment's notice. Of course, not everyone sticks to plan and Elena joins Reno for a little... people-watching.

- nicknames! Give him an original nickname and he’ll love you forever (i.e. one that doesn’t reference the red of his hair)

- staying by him and offering support during his times of weakness will make him melt when he thinks back on it (granted, he’ll deny any such affect but those who know him well will see through the ruse)

- along with ruffling his hair, Reno is quite fond of just-- generally being pet on the head - in private, of course. It makes him feel special and loved

- verbally telling him you’re proud of him can leave him in a starry-eyed wonder

Haaaaaaaaaa. This will be a fun one.

Both pre- and post bad science, Reno’s best families have been those not related by blood. The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb, as they say, and it’s no different for Reno. I’m not saying he didn’t love his mother, he did, but she could do nothing for him against his dad, not to mention his dad dragged & dumped him somewhere outside Sector 7 and he got lost so he couldn’t return home.

Celia never did find out where her husband took their son and was left to believe he was dead.

Found family is something that Reno deeply treasures, even without consciously realising it. But he does catch himself longing for a blood family and just that little extra connection - though he’s happy regardless and wouldn’t trade the Turks for the world.

challenge my writing. send me a word, and i will write a drabble about that topic—but without ever using the word you said.

Inexperienced gaze flits across arrangements with the patience of a wild hound. He’s here for a reason; a gift. The story of ink etched on skin may not have been one often told, but it was one which would never be forgotten. Golden sun-kissed petals do seem charming now he observes them. A shopkeeper grasps his attention, inquiring if he requires any help. The temptation to say no floats in his throat but dismissed in haste with acceptance. Reno does not trust himself to perform well in matters such as these and welcomes the assistance.

Soon he leaves the florist, flowers yearning for sun in hand.
