She sat passenger side as the car drove down the freeway, windows down and her hair blowing back in the wind. If her humanity had been on, she probably would have enjoyed the wind on her skin and the feel it gave her, so much more. Instead - it just felt like a breeze cooling warm skin. As Stefan spoke, she was taken out of her thoughts and adverted her eyes from the road to look over at him, “Didn’t we just fill up?” She asks, rolling her eyes and clearly irritated. She was itching to get to the city, she’d heard from stories from Stefan, that people in NYC had sweeter blood. Maybe it was because they came from the city that never slept, she’ll never know. As the car comes to a stop in the gas station, she looks over at him, “I’ll do it.” She says in a dull, tone taking his wallet from him and exiting the vehicle, sauntering inside the gas station.
Stefan took his eyes off the road for only a second or two to look at Elena, and then his eyes were back on the road again. Right away he could sense she was annoyed. Having to refill fuel into your car isn’t the worst thing in the world, he thought to himself. While still driving, he answered her in a sarcastic way, “Obviously we didn’t, Elena unless the fuel gauge is broken. And I highly doubt it because I bought this Porsche not too long ago.” When his wallet was taken from him, Stefan went after her. All of a sudden, he was in front of her. “Um, who decided that you would do it? Besides, why should you have all the fun?” he asked.
