Interesting turn of events

So my mom and I were both asked by our art teachers to enter pieces in the college art show which opened tonight. My mom’s ceramics teacher Steven called me around 4pm to ask for her phone number to let her know that she needed to come to the show’s opening this evening at 6pm. He said she was getting an award and I thought that was pretty cool. When I got there, I asked my mom if Steven had gotten a hold of her. She said ‘yeah but it’s probably just a participation award.’ I told her that was probably not the case because my teacher hadn’t called to say I was getting one. So anyway, mom has this idea that her award won’t be any big deal, and wouldn’t you know it, SHE WON FIRST PLACE FOR 3-D PIECES (she she made a sculpture of an elephant head out of clay) and $100 CASH PRIZE!!!! Whoo-hoo! Go mom! She doesn’t give herself enough credit, but SHE WON 1ST PLACE!! :D :D :D
