Hydration, Physical Activity, & YOU

The American College of Sports Medicine guide to fluid replacement.

Pre-physical activity - prehydration -  start the activity euhydrated (normal state of body water content) and with normal plasma electrolyte levels

During physical activity -  prevent excessive (>2% body weight loss from water deficit) dehydration and excessive changes in electrolyte balance to avert compromised performance

Post-physical activity -  replace any fluid electrolyte deficit
