there’s nothing but relief on worn features when they finally enter the warmth of the inn. their journey towards their over - night location had been harsh, lack of infrastructure in this rural area forcing the duo to go on foot. to make matters worse, a run - in with akuma had thrown off their schedule, and by the time general and finder finally reach their safe haven, the sun had switched place with the moon hours ago.
dove made quick work of checking in, being led up a set of torturous stairs -- it was fine, after this, he could sink into a warm, soft bed and call it a night . . just a few more steps, and he’d finally be able to rest . .
of course there’d be yet another obstacle in their way.
the matron stops in her tracks as she opens their room, and one peek over her shoulder tells dove why. turning to them, she profusely apologizes -- there must have been a mistake, i’m so sorry but we don’t have any other rooms available . . he dismisses her, reassuring her its fine, though any and all light left blue hues. when she’s gone, and they are alone, the general needs a moment to digest it all, puppy eyes staring longingly at the bed ( spacious for one person, but just a little too small for two people . . ) for a few long seconds, before he turns away. “ you take it. i can make due with the couch. ”
@reperiire there’s only one bed
