Elevation (2024)
This was exactly what straight to DVD movies used to feel like in the days of Block Buster. I had a good time watching it.
I honestly, I hope they make a sequel. I hope they fix the bullet thing because that's so boring and unoriginal.
All the spoilers.
Anthony Mackie used to be an indie darling. What happened? Why is he only getting offers for these straight to streaming action movies?
A bullet? That's what this boils down to a friggin bullet. Now movie, I was having a pretty good time until that was how they killed the monsters.
That's some basic boring bull. I thought Mena was going to make an electromagnetic signal that shorts their circuits or use a super strong magnet to short them. Don't make a big deal about how strong a pulse they give off if that has nothing to do with how they die.
We don't see one cross the barrier. Why the hell not? I was hoping it would happen, and we'd learn that the reason is that the magnetic field is too strong or weak at 8K elevation.
I could not get a grasp on how far they were traveling it seemed long, but it also seemed like Boulder was right around the corner.
The action sequences were fun.
This alien was so unkillable that it took away the fun. If they showed it getting hurt or just slowing down when they are firing, it would add some energy. And take away the irritation one feels when they keep firing bullets that literally don't do anything!
In the sequel, I want to see a settlement of people who live below the line.
An alien cross the barrier.
A caborn dioxide pumping machine for distraction purposes.
