"Elevator" Finally Screens to Patient KickStarter Backers
For the past few months I've been working hard at bringing a private screening to our generous KickStarter backers and supporters. It was a long 3 years or so that they've waited to see the film they donated money to to create.
If I was in their position, I'd be pretty pissed, not seeing any results after 3 long years is a big no no. BUT thank God that we have the best supporters in the world!
The screening was a major success!!! I was worried at first...I wasn't sure if anyone would be able to understand the film and receive it's message.
So I gave a little speech before the film to make sure people knew what we were trying to do:
"This story is about a mother and her son. It's a film that's set in a different pace and it will require audiences to pay close attention to every action and every word in each scene."
Turns out I didn't need to make that speech. I was surprised at how many people came up to me after the film to tell me how much they appreciated the message and discussed how different the film was compared to others.
This was exactly what I wanted to do, I wanted our audience to leave the theater with our film still on their minds.
This definitely made me feel more confident in our film. "Elevator" is ready to be seen by audiences around the world. Now it's up to us to make that happen...
A lot more hard work ahead of us. Wish us luck.
