a fan theory (ish) (it's more of analysis i don't have a theory)
tldr: conan has been sharing an interestingly large number of images containing playing cards. does he just really like cards or is this a sign?
details and chronological timeline under the cut
it's the middle of the night for me right now but i've put this off for too long and also conan just posted on instagram so. what better time than now. yes, this is what i do in the middle of the night. look at my blog title.
SO i'm not sure what is up with the recurring playing card symbol but it feels like it's been showing up a lot (in ig posts and on pinterest specifically).
a link can be made between cards and luck through the aspect of chance in card games, so it's pretty on-brand for wishbone. also, if we expand our definition to include tarot cards (which appear in his latest post) the connection is clear. however, cards haven't really been used as a symbol in any song.
also relevant to note (if you didn't already know) conan is on pinterest! and has been pinning some... interesting stuff.
i'm honestly not sure how common playing cards are (i mean i don't play cards a lot so this feels like a lot to me) so i don't know what the chances are that this is all a big coincidence but i thought it would be interesting to compile all its occurrences. so, here they are: (all dates are in 2025)
the picture at the start of the post is from an ig post from march 5
aug 4 (via ig post):
the last photo was also shared on pinterest with the caption "playing cards"
oct 22 (via ig story):
oct 31 (via olivia rodrigo's ig post)(idk how relevant this is but thought it was interesting):
nov 10 (TODAY, via ig post):
the tarot card pictured in the second image is the ten of wands. i know absolutely nothing about tarot cards so i googled it. from wikipedia:
Most often, the Ten of Wands card carries the meaning of overload and burdening situations where too much responsibility has been taken on by the subject.
pinterest (undated):
the second photo is conan's pinterest board titled "gifts for the diy creative"
p.s. i'm bad at identifying hands so idk who's in the photos
what could this mean?
who knows? a wishbone deluxe release with a card motif? more wbwt dates (this is my delusion)? maybe hinting at or3 (i have seen the theories that it's going to be called luck and i don't believe it but still)? or maybe i'm reading too much into a boy who just. really likes his cards
for those who don't know, mailboxes have been popping up in various cities around the world with these postcards which seem to come together to form a poster for the wishbone world tour.
(psa there is also a countdown for 20 oct 2025 12nn est at https://live.umusic.com/conan-gray-countdown that people think is going to be the official tour announcement)
currently the poster has no asia dates. here i detail my theory as to why i am certain there will still be asia dates, and when they are/will be announced. i also have attached the poster and all the cities/dates we know so far. read more under the cut:
as for the tour poster, this is what has been found so far (credit to wishbonetourupdates on instagram):
below glasgow should be london and below adelaide should be perth, but otherwise it looks like there are no more cities below that.
other than that, below minneapolis is somewhere in indiana, and three seemingly unknown dates.
from the mailboxes we know that toronto (feb 23), boston (feb 25) and belmont park (new york)(feb 28) have confirmed dates in that order, and thus they are likely to be the three missing dates below indiana.
that's all the cities that are on the poster. the question in the minds of so many international fans: WHERE ARE THE ASIA DATES??
some background:
1. conan played in japan, the philippines, singapore, thailand, taiwan and south korea on the superache tour,
2. as well as jakarta, hong kong, singapore, thailand, south korea and japan during fhot
3. conan is half japanese (and also his keyboardist renny goh is singaporean !!)
4. there are A LOT of people in asia who would come out to see his shows
these four things in mind, how could he skip out on asia dates???
i have good reason to believe he won't
if you look at the history of tour announcements for superache and fhot, asia has always been announced seperately
superache:
og announcement: 26 oct 2021 (pre-album release)
announcement of asia leg: 10 nov 2022 (mid-tour, and 3 months before the first date on 14 feb 2023 in osaka)
fhot:
og announcement: 5 march 2024 (pre-album release)
announcement of asia leg: 29 april 2024 (4 months before the first date on 23 aug 2024 in jakarta, but still before the first show of the tour in melbourne)
wishbone is a little different, because the wishbone pajama shows were announced first before the international tour, but i believe this will still hold true.
we'll be using fhot for the purposes of comparison here, since the asia dates are sandwiched between other dates that were included in the original announcement.
so, in the original announcement, the australia leg spanned from 11-19 aug, followed by the us leg from 19 sep-26 oct. that's a one month gap, bigger than any other break between tour dates. two months later, the asia leg is announced from 23 aug-10 sep, filling in that gap perfectly.
now let's go back to wishbone. here is the list of all the known cities, in order, and the dates that we know from the mailboxes. (credits to wishbonetourupdates on instagram, with edits from myself)
as you can see, there seems to be a similarly suspiciously long jump between the last us date in march (california) and the uk dates in may. this could be a gap left for... you guessed it, asia dates!!
the only issue is that artists tend to tour asia and oceania as one, and to fly from the us to asia and back to europe is non-standard. but, during fhot, there was one us date between the australia and asia legs, so weird touring schedules? i wouldn't put it past him
the other possibility is that the asia leg, like with the superache tour, is placed after the last show in adelaide, extending the tour. this does open up the possibility of a later announcement (possibly next year, after wbwt has already started), but i'm hoping otherwise.
in conclusion, the asia leg doesn't seem to be on the poster and will likely NOT be announced tomorrow, but rather in one to two months' time; i'd place it around dec-jan (might be later, though). the actual shows will likely be in april, or if after australia then later in the year (maybe september). there's absolutely no way he's not coming though
please do share your thoughts! i'd love to discuss this with people and gather more insights. and if you got here, thanks for listening to me yap i guess ❤️
