The Story
The story is about an oversized elf finding out about his true father.
The story is really dull and cleche. With the father ignoring him till the very end and him finally believing about Christmas.
Yes, there are some funny jokes here and there, but the film is overall boring to watch.
The Characters
The characters are not that interesting, either. They don't go into the characters and their relationships with one another, making you not care about the characters at all.
The Special Effects
The stopmotion animation is a parody of the old Christmas specials by Rankin/Bass which is a clever idea, but they are only around at the beginning of the film and there are no funny jokes with them in.
The CGI isn't that impressive for the time, either. With the CGI looking really cheap and fake. Which lowers the quality of the film completely.
Final Thoughts
Overall, this film has a few good ideas and a few witty jokes, but it is still a dull film. The story is predictable, the characters are dull and boring and the special effects are lacklustre.
Honestly, there are MUCH better Christmas films out there.
