🍄🌱 Another weird mushroom alert!!
This one is called the Scarlet Elf Cup mushroom, named for pretty much exactly the way it looks. It is not poisonous, although it is considered inedible, so please don’t take a lil sippy-sip out of the elf cup. Please.
Looking at you, cottagecore peeps.
Elf cup. Another fungus that i don’t eat or use medicinally, but always love to see. It’s so red! . . . #elfcup #fungus #mushroom #forestfloor https://www.instagram.com/p/CL-KOabFe5H/?igshid=x6c9vj6wmn6x
Green Elfcup (Chlorosplenium aeruginascens)
I'm out in the woods this afternoon foraging some beech and just noticed this on the ground. The stunning turquoise colour in this piece of wood is the work of the green elf cup fungus. Unfortunately by the time the wood gets to this colour, it's usually rotten beyond a carve-able state. One day I hope to find a piece that is still holding together enough to make something from but for now, no green elf spoons 🍄 . . . #wpwoodcraft #wood #woodcraft #fungi #wildlife #nature #woodworking #forest #green #elfcup
