So these elf ears are actual earbuds. I first saw them on wish, but I didn't want to buy them from there. I was going to wait a while to buy them from somewhere I trust more, but my puppy decided my old earbuds made a good snack. The ones I got are wireless with a microphone in the little pill shaped piece in the first picture. That piece is also able to adjust volume and skip songs. These were about $20 usd on amazon, which was about how much i was likely to spend on the skullcandy earbuds I normally buy. I've only had them a few hours and I already feel like this is one of the best purchases I've ever made. Highly recommend.
