one thing that kinda just- idk makes me insecure ab expressing my bisexuality through fictional characters (that don't have canon sexualities) is that there's this ease within sapphic circles to immediately invalidate it.
i don't feel comfortable headcanoning a beautiful fictional woman as bisexual-or even just saying she IS bisexual bc look at her bc I'll most likely get attacked and invalidated and told "bro she's def a lesbian" which- OBVIOUSLY is valid as fuck and i love seeing lesbian fictional characters both canon or otherwise- it just feels like sapphic bisexuals aren't viewed as valid as much as lesbians in fiction (in sapphic circles).
it's like they aren't gay or sapphic enough. some even just say that blatantly. it's discouraging as a sapphic bisexual. i love seeing lesbians talk about their fave non canon lesbians, it just feels like I can't do the same for non canon bisexual sapphics. it's not always said, but it's how bisexual sapphics are rarely part of the conversations in sapphic circles. we don't have the same ability to just unabashedly scream about our favorites bisexual sapphic who -again- doesn't have a canon sexuality.
it feels like i have to walk on eggshells and tell people "don't worry guys, I'm not actually saying she's a bisexual sapphic..." for fear of people jumping down my throat.
idk if this makes much sense- im just repeating the same thing in different ways lol- but i just needed to get it off my chest.
characters like leblanc from lol and claudia from iwtv are beautifully headcanoned as lesbians, i just hope i can also headcanon them as bisexuals. 🩷💜🩵
