i have been thinking about this for quite a while, and now i'd like to divulge it to those willing to hear!

this textpost will cover the main four, but i intend to add onto it when i feel like it!

let's begin, shall we?

✎ Charles Talbot ⟺ Lucian Donahue

Lucian Donahue is now the person assigned to clean the office in season 1, though he's only a recent hire to Clear Minds.

he's still decently snarky and closed-off, but it's mostly because he doesn't trust people - rather than has anything truly to hide.

his original name is Luke, but he changed it after emancipating and running away from home. he did not change it for nefarious reasons.

he does not know about his ability, but he learns about the decomposition aspect over the disintegration first (wink wink)

he's generally a bit healthier looking, his smile's much warmer, and his vitiligo has yet to make an appearance (up until things get worse)

Charles Talbot is now the one hired to help Lucian to clean up the office; hired specifically because of his loyalty to the company and extreme vigilance.

he's much more knowledgeable in Clear Mind's intentions and is well-versed in his ability (which he uses to keep Lucian oblivious to the office's hidden features)

extremely calm and calculated - the ends always justifies his means, and his authority is not to be questioned.

he's paler and more tired looking, he has a few scars on his body from past assignments, and his veins glow faintly from overuse of his ability.

✎ Elijah Olen ⟺ H. Grey

Elijah, or E, is the son of Gavin Olen, is now a for-hire investigator and has been on a personal mission to reacquire old files and data from his father's office, unbeknownst to Charles and Lucian.

he's much older and more cunning. he's very good at pretending he's ignorant, but he gets easily endeared to Lucian when they spend more time together.

his ability is a bit more subtle, in which he can cause electronics to shut off or tamper with the inner coding of devices. it only becomes dangerous when he's irritated or frightened.

his hair has a bit of white on it and he has a bit of a beard. you can tell he smokes with his faintly gruff voice.

Hendrix Grey is now a kid born in The City that E accidentally picked up during a case. he was incarcerated by The City Police after vandalizing a building and was stuck in jail for an indeterminate amount of time, until he was rescued.

he's very observant and immature. he doesn't take well to authority and strays from E constantly. he likes Charles because Charles doesn't patronize him (eventually Charles grows attached to him as well)

because he's human this time around, his ability is slightly different. he can shapeshift basic parts of his features (facial features, voice, height/weight) but in turn he has face blindness and identity issues because of it.

his hair is slightly long and greasy, he has a few piercings on his ears and face, and his clothes don't really fit him because he borrows E's shirts and pants.

rising from one of my many graves to offer more The Patient Files headcanons! I really like doing these, obviously.

⌧ General Season 1 & Season 2 spoilers! ⌧

Lucian: - He has generalized vitiligo which is a result of an autoimmune condition caused by his ability and stress caused by daily life. It is mostly around his arms, hands, and head. His snapping fingers are very obviously affected. - In tandem with the vitiligo, Lucian has chronic pain that makes it generally difficult to do basic tasks if he's not pumped full of adrenaline. A cane and/or wheelchair would be a big help. - He is a big fan of theater, but his parents created a petty aversion towards Broadway and Shakespearean plays. He prefers community-run plays and musicals, but he hasn't had much free time to engage in that part of his life.

Eli: - He had a pet hamster when he was younger (maybe a city creature that mimicked a hamster Olen kept after it was deemed safe) and when it died in whatever unexpected way it did, Eli tried to resuscitate it with his ability. It did not work. Now when people try to comfort him and his ability is active, he will not let himself be touched. - Eli is the type of kid to put 'bunny ears' behind people's heads in photos. He also photo-bombs, uses the flash to throw people off, and flip the camera when someone asks for him to take a photo of them. - Eli had braces. I don't have obvious evidence for this, but I feel like the Olen's don't have perfect teeth. He didn't smile with his teeth while he had them.

H.Grey: - He has faded freckles, but in the monochrome of the city, it would look more like ash or dust. Alongside freckles, he has some blotches on his body caused by cirrhosis, and he wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them. - H. Grey has never (intentionally) read a mystery novel. Maybe out of insecurity for his own methods, maybe he doesn't care to read fictional scenarios of his job, or maybe he just doesn't read recreationally. - H. Grey has a collection of coffee mugs from Olen after various jobs well done. Most of them just have words and phrases on them, but his favorite is a tuxedo cat-shaped one (the handle is its tail!) Most of them have never seen a drop of water.

Charles: - Charles has a decently complicated hygiene routine, which he mostly does to relieve stress/self-care, but he also started growing facial hair when he left The City, so he has been learning how to shave. - Also when he left The City, he began to gain weight a bit more easily, though stress still makes it difficult to keep a consistent size. He pegs me as the 'weight gain as a sign of healing type' plus I need him to experience twink death. The clothes he left The City in would not fit him now, is all I'll say. - Charles draws on sticky notes when he's bored, mostly of what he imagined the creatures in case files to look like. 45% of the notes are also just Lucian portraits but that's not important.

Veda: - They have decorative nails similarly to Lucian, but they are filed down to prevent any issues in the lab. They used to fish for compliments with them, but nowadays they are far too cynical to accept them. (Charles definitely complimented them and was passive-aggressively chewed out about it) - Veda is a decent baker, since baking is akin to chemistry. I'd also like to think they grow their own produce or use Clear Minds property for a community garden. They are very meticulous about gardening, bordering on obsessive. - Veda has a video-game making hobby, but the games they make are very complicated (lots of mechanics involving science in some way) and I think the only person they know who would give it an honest chance is Charles.

in a slightly sad mood, so thinking about my audio dramas to cheer up :3

here are some Patient Files headcanons(im legit excited for season 3)

Charles wears socks around his house and has several tall socks with stuff like ‘coolest guy on the conference call’ or ‘all of this could have been an email’ on them.

Lucian would adore getting a pet snake, especially if he could sic them on his enemies. Then again, he’d probably prefer snapping them out of existence himself.

H. Grey has a silver tooth, but it’s hidden and doesn’t really have any attention drawn to it. He also doesn’t have great dental hygiene, mostly because he passes out before doing so.

Eli loves newspaper comics, mostly because Gavin would offer him the newspaper after being done with it. He really likes Calvin and Hobbes (because i do, too)

Gavin has a lot of scars, but he wears a lot of layers to cover it up. He seems like he’d wear turtlenecks.

i dislike how easily my anxiety gets triggered, but this did ease it a little.
