7:00. It was almost time. Minnie Myszkowski hadn’t stopped thinking about her evening plans all day. Every transaction at work dragged by endlessly as she watched the clock, waiting for her friend to arrive and cover for her. Finally, she thought as the associate came in the front door. Finishing up her last few tasks, Minnie finally dashed upstairs to get ready.

After a quick shower, she ran to her closet to choose out an outfit. Suddenly, fear washed over her. She had no idea what to do. Pulling out her phone, she sent a quick message to her best friend, Honey Lemon, asking for advice. As the two texted back and forth, weighing the pros and cons of each outfit, Minnie did her hair and makeup, watching the clock all the while.

It was 7:45 and she had finally narrowed it down to two options. It shouldn’t have been this hard for her; she already knew Thackery liked her and she didn’t have to try to impress him, but she still worried. Who knew what he had in mind. He was a warlock. There was no way this could be a date that she could anticipate every event of. 

With a groan, she chose an outfit at random, realizing how short she was on time and quickly changed. She went back to her closet to find her shoes. She slid them on her feet and did the buckles as she heard a knock on the door. With a confident look at herself in the mirror, Minnie went to the door and opened it with a smile. “Hi Dapper Thacker.”

Dimitry stretched as he woke up. There wasn’t really a reason to get up yet, so he rolled over and reached for Eugene, only to find a cold, empty place where the boy had been when Dimi fell asleep the night before. Frowning, he arose, tossed on a t-shirt, and made his way out of their bedroom.

Stopping in the kitchen, he started a pot of coffee and tossed some eggos in the toaster for the two of them. He pulled out the butter and syrup and two plates and mugs before continuing his search for Eugene. He rounded the corner and found him scribbling furiously and muttering to himself at their shared desk. 

He quietly came up behind Eugene to watch over his shoulder as the man tried to dicipher the code they had found on their last mission. Almost at the same moment as Eugene, Dimi realized that the younger boy had solved the mystery. 

“Oh my god, the beauty of the mission has brains, too. And just when I thought you couldn’t get any sexier,” Dimi grinned widely, proud of Eugene. Of course, they both knew that he was brilliant, but Dimi couldn’t help but poke fun at him whenever possible.

IT WASNT VERY often the younger friend needed advice, especially on girls. he was never shy around them, and never needed advice on how to talk to them. thackery was a charmer in his own right. however, ever since minnie came into his life, the binx boy couldn't tell his left from right, or his up from down. perhaps talking to his friend would help gain some perspective. he'd probably never live it down.

thackery made his way to flynn's place , knocking on the door. " flynn? you better be home. " he thought about seeing if the door was unlocked and opening it. he refrained; he wasn't in the mood to walk in on whatever was happening behind that door. // Closed starter for @smoulderingrogue

My brothers said that I was rotten to the core I was the youngest child, so I got by with more I guess she was tired by the time I came along, she'd laugh until she cried I could do no wrong. She would always save me, because I was her baby

A few days had passed and Mary knew what she needed to do. It was finally snowing in Elias, switching from that cold icy rain that numbed you to the core to the soft flaky sky kisses that clung to noses and eyelashes. She had seen the young man around town, sulking at times, other times with a young woman who he seemed enamored with. And while the sight of his happiness warmed her heart, she still felt dragged down by his loneliness. She couldn’t help but feel that she had something to do with that loneliness and the way she had left him after their lunch certainly did not help the situation. 

From her years as a volunteer, she knew that there would be a small party at the orphanage today to celebrate the new year and Eugene would surely be in attendance. 

Dressed in a large coat, Mary looked her true age today. She was not used to this look but knew the importance of calming the heart of the poor boy she helped all those years ago. 

Making the last turn, she saw Flynn getting out of his car. As if in slow motion, Mary noticed the icy patch that he stepped out on, causing him to slip. She held back her laugh as best she could, but she knew he heard her.

National Cherry Month || Dimitry && Meg

Exactly ten minutes after receiving the first text from Meg, Dimitry was sitting in the diner in town with two bowls of cherries and a large grin on his face. He didn’t know what was going to happen through this; their date had been a bet and this could be a friendly meet up, or possibly a second date. He couldn’t be sure, but would wait to see how it played out. 

He looked up as the bell chimed, signaling that the door was opening. It wasn’t Meg. He looked back down at his bowl of slowly dwindling cherries and decided to even out the bowls, stealing a few of her cherries.

Minnie woke up with a smile on her face. It had been a few days since the party; the smile still hadn’t left her face. She looked around her room and saw her purse from that night draped across the chair in the corner. She had never unpacked it. Stretching, she arose and went to look through it. She pulled out her make-up and a few bills and receipts, then stopped, confused. At the bottom, she saw a necklace that she knew wasn’t hers. She pulled it out by the chain and gasped, finding Thackery’s cat skull charm was attached to it. She quickly got dressed and walked the short distance to his apartment. She knocked on his door, hoping he was awake already.

The past comes back

IT HAD BEEN TOO EASY finding where Flynn lived now. Dimitry had known the younger man for longer than practically anyone. It only took him about a day of being back in Elias to locate enough information to know exactly when and where he would be, and when the home would be empty. 

Expertly, Dimi picked the lock of his old flame’s door and let himself inside. It felt almost right, being able to sneak up on Flynn again. For years he had wondered if he would ever see the man again, or if he was still alive for that matter. 

He still hadn’t forgiven the man for what had happened, the reason he left town. Flynn, Eugene, had taken everything that last time. And he just left. Dimi tried not to think back on the painful memories as he strode back into the man’s bedroom. The watch was still there. He still had it. 

Dimitry pocketed the watch quickly, leaving a small audio recorder in its place. He scribbled a quick note and placed it under the device before pressing play to make sure the sound worked.

With a nod, he left silently exited the house. He was back and this time Dimitry Nikolayevich Antonov had the upper hand on Flynn Rider.

When will you learn? || Mary && Thackery

Mary was furious. She couldn’t finish her shopping. She turned on her heel as soon as she had left the store, too furious to even shush her umbrella from yapping as she stormed through the town. She had been looking at new hats in “Minnie Marvels” when she overheard the boutique owner talking to a friend on the phone. “He told me he was a warlock. I think I was just drunk and imagined it though. All that really matters is that he kissed me at midnight.”

She missed the rest of the conversation. All of the blood had drained from her face and she felt cold throughout. How could he? He knew better than to talk about that with mortals. He didn’t even practice anymore! Luckily, Thackery lived a short walk away, and her anger made the walk even shorter. 

She didn’t bother knocking and used her magic to slam the door open. She marched right up to his apartment, seething. “Did you learn nothing from me?!” She accused.
