El bueno de Robert Allen Zimmerman llega a Nueva York con 19 años, un montón de canciones en su mente y muchas muchas ganas de llamar la atención.

La historia que cuenta esta película es difícil de entender hasta que llegas a sus últimos 30 minutos. Ahí es cuando se revela qué trataba de contarnos, cómo Dylan buscaba ser el centro de atención y descubrirle algo nuevo a su público cada vez que lo tenían delante. Esta transición es el mensaje central. El resto, son algunas de sus canciones más famosas para tratar de mantenerte entretenido durante sus más de dos horas de duración. Sin embargo, si eres fan de Dylan, es una obra maravillosa de entretenimiento. El reparto es gigantesco, con algunas intervenciones como la de Boyd Holbrook que con cuatro líneas es capaz de devorar cada escena.

I'm not saying the people who told me Dylan was the embodiment of the leftist spirit of the Civil Rights Movement more than even black artists like Odetta were wrong, but I am saying you'll never find an interview where Odetta or Phil Ochs or Joan Baez or most other forces in the folk revival mocked a man who was murdered in cold blood for holding a sign that said "EQUALITY FOR ALL" in Mississippi.

You will find Bob Dylan doing that.
