thoughts on what stalks the deep by t kingfisher:

obviously i loved it because the sworn soldier is forever and always a comfort read series for me.

i think the scientific aspect was very fun and the speculative evolution was super intriguing

however i will say this felt a little less magical to me than what moves the dead (honestly so did what feasts at night) and that's probably because it's not (to my knowledge) based on a preexisting story like what moves the dead which is a house of usher retelling.

anyways, lovely read, missed these novellas, will obviously read the next book when it comes out.

current thoughts on museum of unconditional surrender: I'm currently in the first third of this book but wow, what a gorgeous book, a compilation of vignettes to describe living in exile, of losing your home, it feels true to today's events as much as it probably felt when ugaresic wrote it in 1997...

i highly recommend it as of now, but you must have a lot of focus and imagination to be able to handle it, it took me a couple tries before i finally managed to get into it so deeply but once i figured out how to read it i could barely put it down. even now i want to go back into the text, sink my teeth into it and break my jaws on the prose

i am writing it here so it is set in stone: I'm going to read the entire philip pullman lyra series (his dark materials, and the book of dust)

in an hour I'll be 23 and it's time to finally pick up this series

ok so! i finished two books recently and haven't gotten to talk about them

Gideon The Ninth was the first i finished this week (review coming soon!!)

and "A Psalm For The Wild Built" was a lil novella i started monday and finished today while i was sick and had no energy for big stuff. (review also coming soo!!!)

today a friend lent me the goldfinch so I'm trying it out, but I'll probably try to continue and hopefully finish harrow the ninth and the milkyway book! anyways. wish me luck!
