[ SMS → JULIAN’S WIFE ] : You’re such an annoying bitch.
4 and 10
4. a trait they’re ashamed of
it’s not so much a trait as a feeling but nick is definitely ashamed of how lonely he gets sometimes. continuing on from that, he’s kinda ashamed of his dependence on people rather than on himself; he fluctuates between being happy in his own company and not needing anyone and being almost painfully dependent on having another person around and he really hates himself when he feels the latter.
10. a way that they are improving on any of the above!
whilst he wasn’t the trigger of the episode of loneliness nick is going through at the moment, julian has definitely been a catalyst in making nick address the fact that maybe he needs to actually tackle the above issues rather than relying on other people to make him feel better. he’s definitely feeling shitty at the moment and he wants to throw himself into a relationship so he has another person there to disguise any feelings of loneliness but i think, this time, he’s actually recognizing that that’s a terrible method and he needs to actually deal with it by himself. right now, he isn’t really improving and tbh i don’t know if he will or not but he’s actually recognizing what he should be doing for the first time which i guess is an improvement on before.
hc + children
Juliette absolutely adores children. She babysat as a teenager and ever since she was a child she has wanted to be a mother. Seeing children just makes her happy. They are so innocent and so willing to look at the bright side of life. It is wonderful. Now that she’s getting older and her life is becoming more stable, Juliette is ready to have a child of her own. She wants to start a family and have a child or two to dote on. It’s the next step in her life, but it’s one she fears may never happen given she doesn’t know how Jermaine feels about having children. All she hopes for is that someday she can hold her son or daughter in her arms and know everything is perfect. She would do anything to protect her children, if only given the chance.

▼: What would you find in your muse’s refrigerator right now?
Nick likes to eat a fairly healthy diet and he’s a decent cook so there’s lots of ingredients for stuff: lots of veg, beef, chicken, milk, a small block of cheese (there’s usually more but he’s trying to cut down), the blood of foolish senators, dark chocolate, yogurt, fresh pasta, strawberries, raspberries, peanut butter and low-fat margarine. He has some leftover Chinese takeaway (noodles and spring rolls) in there too which he is having for his tea tonight. There’s also a pasta microwave meal lurking somewhere at the back that’s two days out of date incase he can’t be arsed to cook (which this week has not been the case).
☮: When and where was your muse happiest?
He really liked working for Blair so that period of his life was a nice one: fresh out of university, in a job he’d always dreamed of, doing far better in terms of progression than he’d expected to do in his first job, and actually having a real genuine impact on the country? Much as he is a grumpy sod, he really loves working for people/causes that he believes in and this was doing exactly that at the very forefront of politics. He did genuinely miss DC though so whilst this is when he was his happiest, I suppose his happy ‘place’ is DC.
❖: What is the attitude and appearance that your muse presents in public? How does this differ from the attitude they have in private, when they are alone?
The attitude that Nick generally presents in public is the one that would be most beneficial to his job so basically being a cunt who u don’t wanna fuk with™. This, whilst not really necessary anymore, has been instilled in him to such an extent that it probs won’t change much and is still the vibe he is going for (although slightly toned down as to avoid making every journalist in DC hate him more than they do). The (physical) appearance that he wants to put across is of someone who is well groomed, handsome and intimidating so that he can do his job well but also get laid.
In private, he’s not too different - his personality is well suited to his job that he held - but he’s far more jokey than he is in his career. He’s still brash and grumpy and not really interested in dealing with people’s fuck-ups but he’s more than willing to laugh, not only with others but also at himself, whereas in his career, there’s not a chance in hell that he would take the piss out of himself in front of someone. When he’s alone, he is quite chill because he doesn’t have to deal with other people and their shit. He likes hanging out with his dog (rip) too.
