Lunging the horse! The focus is on the quality of gaits, helping the horse improve the length and power in the stride while maintaining this balance and not rushing him. The goal is to build correct muscle and/or warm up the horse for the upcoming workout by not just running him around in circles but mentally engaging him and helping stretch his muscles before adding weight to his back.
