I say this as someone who works at a nonprofit: the attitude “someone who has nothing will be grateful for anything” is harmful and dehumanizing when it’s used to justify donating something ripped, stained, or expired to someone less fortunate.
Homeless people deserve clothing with good structural integrity. Victims of house fires deserve linens that are free of stains. No one should have to eat expired food. It’s disrespectful to give people scraps when they’re already hurting.
Please, out of respect for your fellow humans, check the dates on your food donations before you drop them off.
Dear friends,
We are in desperate need of your help.My family and I were forced to flee our home after our neighborhood was heavily bombed by the Israeli occupation. We escaped with nothing nothing but our lives.
Now, we are displaced, with no safe place to stay, no shelter to protect our children, and no belongings to comfort us.
Please share our pain. Share our story. Let the world hear our cries.Your prayers mean everything. And from the depths of my heart, thank you to anyone who can help.
Our campaign Samer's family has been vetted several times, you can find their campaign at #196 on the Vetted Fundraiser list and at #240 on Gaza Vetters' list.

The past two years I've been blessed to partner with Ricco Fajardo each June for an annual ZLS-themed charity drive over on my cosplay page. Last year we made something extra unhinged, and I realized I never posted it here! Overall, we managed to raise $1,200 for The Trevor Project. We're currently taking suggestions for a charity to support in 2026!
Voiceover: Ricco Fajardo
Script, Editing and Sound Design: Me!
