Of course they’d meet like this. A friendship as long and as storied as theirs arguably deserves a better reunion – but it had deserved better closure, too, hadn’t it? That’s what Quinn has thought over these years tainted with bitterness, her feelings toward Liz souring as more time of silence passed by. Had their final interaction been so bad? The circumstances had seemed dire, yes, but were they so much so that Quinn deserved a complete silent treatment? Had she done something wrong?
Such thoughts are the sort she hasn’t let herself contemplate in a while, but they rush to the forefront as Quinn goes crashing into her friend on the sidewalk outside of Lunara. She’d taken the trip to Birchwood for decent takeout – but now it seems she’s in for something much less satisfying. “Oh.” The lawyer manages dumbly, then shakes her head. “Elizabeth. Hello.” They hadn’t been on such formal status before, but those had been different times. Different circumstances. “It’s been a while. I, um...” I wish you hadn’t stopped speaking to me? I wish you’d let me know what I’d done wrong? No, she can’t let that out. Not at all. “Right. How’ve you been?”
