❛ Is this a bootycall? ❜ lucifer at john

Speak of the Devil and he’ll appear, huh? Seems pretty accurate, now when John’s tried it. Although in fairness the summoning circle and all that bollocks probably helped with the speaking his name and all.
But you can’t really summon the Devil, same way you can’t summon any other angel, so the fact that Lucifer came means he’s chosen to.
So that’s nice, and all.
And of course he’s a right smart-ass about it, but John prides himself on his ability to roll with the punches.
He grins.
“You want it to be, mate?”

So, Los Angeles, then. Not the most aptly named of places given that it’s a shit place just like any other, but it’s dressed up nicer and has advertised itself better, so the rest of the world rolls with it as some kind of summer paradise.
John’s not a fan, but then again, there is one actual literal angel that resides there because he’s clearly a fan of the irony of the whole thing, and John’ll swallow his annoyance in favour of ... favours, as it were.
Lux is as indulgent as ever. He gets past the guard with a little misdirection and strides in as he takes a look around. He hasn’t been there often, but he’s familiar enough, and Lucifer is as usual very easy to spot since there’s a gaggle of women and guys hovering close enough to him to hope to catch some stardom but not crawling in his lap because they’ve not been lucky enough to be invited.
Might be John’s lucky day, eh?
He plays a little with the cigarette in his fingers as he stands in front of the devil of the house with a crooked smile.
“Hullo, mate.”

(First, it should be noted that the name of the language is no long er jel elje, but eljés /ɛlˈjeːʃ/, a compound of eljeme “otherworldly” with -(j)as/(j)es. The suffix means “in the style of”, and is used to form the names of languages, rather than a compound with jel “language”.)
