Ella Janes writes: My new EP 'I Bought Myself Flowers Today' is here!

I’m releasing it early on Bandcamp as a special thank you to those who support independent music. These songs explore letting go of relationships that no longer serve us, navigating endings, and embracing independence.

The artwork was created by my grandmother, Jan Janes, as part of a series of paintings exploring the emotions we experience depending on who gives us flowers - and when we choose to buy them for ourselves.

Huge thanks as always to my long-term collaborators Hugh Fielding (engineer) and Tom White (musician/producer) for bringing the tracks to life in the studio.

Thomas writes: New Ella Janes just dropped. Super proud of this. We recorded the track last year. She came into the studio with the song and it was kinda this floaty folky thing. I suggested warping it into a Krautrock beast and here we are. Sometimes a song can take a total production curveball and it all just elevates. Earlier this year we got together in my studio to film a video. Using just a projector, laptop and phone, this is the result. DIY art is the best. Listen/watch and share.
