Proving a Point is on its way!

Today I’ve got an email with information that the book version is on its way.

I’m happy more than ever because the book version is coming from France! So no customs pay for me, i’d normally pay if it came from UK, USA or anywhere that is not in the EU. The book version should be in my hands by Monday 25th of July. 

I will say I can’t wait! I have read the fic to 15 or 16th chapter when it was first posted but since then haven’t touched it. Even though I could read it easily online I like to hold my fanfctions in my hands ;) 

Also after this I’ll try to buy the book version of other lulu stories I’ve not yet read but would love to have them in book version on my shelf! Wish me luck. I hope they won’t disappear in few days time.

By the time he turned eight, Sherlock had had more supernatural experiences than he could count or recall. He’d grown used to flickering lights, the whispers in the night, the sudden appearance of apparitions in the corridors. The dead were just as much a part of his life as the living. He went about his business, never disrupting theirs.

Sometimes he talked to them, but they never talked back. Sometimes, he heard their stories second-hand, in the snippets of conversation between his parents at the dinner table, but they were never spoken about like real people. They were simply characters that formed the tapestry of the house, bumps and flickers of a life stuck in the in-between.

That is, until he met Victor.

Rec: This is a clever and creative psychological character study wrapped up in a ghost story wrapped up in a casefic. The first half of this is set in an alternate version of Sherlock’s childhood, in which his parents have a rather different vocation than in the show. The second half then drops the reader into the middle of series 1 and an odd case which seems eerily tailor-made for Sherlock. The fun then is in seeing things unfold to link back to the first part, in ways I often didn’t expect. The blend of canon and original elements makes this both authentic and fresh, and Sherlock and John’s friendship is comfortingly solid, with an intensity that provides just a hint of something more-ness.

This is tagged as M/M, but as you can see from the relationships, it all remains platonic. The rating is likely for violence, including the murder of a child, although there’s nothing particularly graphic.

I finished reading this last weekend and I don’t have enough words to describe how much I loved this retelling of Me Before You. It was wonderful and made me have so many feelings! This is a Johnlock Classic in my mind for sure.

Man, I would LOVE to have, but in fact, I went directly from that HUGE weekend into a 12-hour work day and haven’t been able to stop since... Monday is my day off, typically, except that I teach in the evening, and this coming Monday I also have a super-important meeting in the afternoon, plus I need to go and vote to do my bit to keep a fascist squirrel-man hybrid from becoming prime minister of Canada, so there’s that. But I’ll get to sleep in, at least?
