Yeah, I know the meaning is well and the problem is that there's no good way to refer to oneself as a female adult...woman bothers some people (but has less classism inherent to it) and lady involves a sort of white middle-class Properly Raised that I sure as shit wasn't. Girl is...eww, I'm in my late 30s, I'm not a "girl" anymore". All the words suck, because patriarchy. I just feel less shoved out by "woman" than "lady".
In short, I know those folks meant well, the local picnic is choosing to be shitty. Sometimes people who mean well end up caught up in the shitty and it's not their fault. The choosing to be shitty is the real problem, and they're choosing to be shitty....or they're not, but aren't open to dialogue, so in the end it's all the same.

I can offer up insight on what I understood about it if you like.
I was exaggerating the amount I didn't get, but it would be cool to have a dialogue on it. I understood what was going on I am just frustrated at how disjointed the writing was. A lot of things were never revisited, just kind of left hanging in the air. I don't know how much I am going to enjoy the next season.
