Forget the deserted island. If you could have anyone throughout history alongside you in a fight, who would it be & why? “A fighter, a real strong fighter, should always look dignified and calm, and I believe that any expression of aggression is an expression of weakness. A strong person will not be nervous and will not express aggression towards his opponent. He will be confident in his abilities and his training; then he will face the fight calm and balanced.” ~Fedor Emelianenko Who is that one person you’d want watching your back?
Are you READY? “Use karate, judo, aikido, or any style to build your counter-offensive. It will be interesting!” ~Bruce Lee Training in multiple styles of martial arts has allowed me a rounded perspective, allowing me to assess what would and would not work in everyday life. Is it cool to do a flying axe kick? Heck yeah! But that isn't the most practical! No one wants to deal with an attack and in fact, it may be the farthest thing from your mind. However, being unprepared can have dyer consequences! It's why I teach, practice, and share the knowledge/tools which can aid you when faced with a compromising situation! Join me for these up-and-coming workshops!
#WhyDoThisWork? “If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, & you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.” ~Bruce Lee It’s about acknowledging fear of differences or of being different & moving past those fears! Something I’ve learned while doing this work is that you do not know the depths of a strangers story. You do not know their past & what brought them to the here & now. I remember being bullied when I was younger & the bullying was quite severe but I realized it was because I was different & looked different than my peers. It is good to set boundaries for yourself which keep you safe but also to look at what limitations you have due to a fear of the unknown.
Feel like a piece of you is missing? “I’m not searching for my other half because I’m not half.” ~Unknown I used to search outwardly to feel whole. For the longest time I looked and I remember feeling lost — feeling terribly alone. If I only knew that all I needed to do was look to that girl in the mirror to show me the way. All I can do is share what I know now and hope it helps the next girl searching for that which they find lacking.
Ready to Discover the Warrior Within YOU? No one wants to deal with an attack but if you had to, it’s best to be prepared! This Saturday, January 19th, 1-2:30 pm, join me for my next self-defense workshop at Body in Balance in Lahaina!
#Happy2019! So many learning experiences & much growth! I’m so grateful for all who have come across my path regardless of if they’re here for a season or for life. I love this work! Understanding how to navigate the lessons and the wins have been monumental!
What is that one thing you can pass on to the next generation? “Those who know, do. Those that understand, teach.” ~Aristotle When you teach, you’re giving them the ability to share those skills with a larger audience! It is important to teach what you know!
