'"I didn't have time to think about anything," Dancy said in an interview in January. "I found out that Hannibal had been canceled on my birthday, which was June the 19th," he said, laughing, and started filming the pilot for The Path in September. "I always find with something interesting the best way to approach it is to try to find reasons not to do it," Dancy said. "Look for the weaknesses. And if you can't find any, then you have to proceed." His character in The Path might say Dancy and Cal were meant to find each other. "The odd thing was that . . . I share an agent with Aaron. When Hannibal was canceled, I was speaking to her and I said, 'I just want to read stuff, to get a sense of what's out there in the world.' And she said, 'Well, you know, there's this thing that I've got, but it's not certain and you'd be reading it for no reason other than just to read it.'" (Ellen Gray)
