i hope it will turn out alright! i've been having similar sensations in stressful periods and usually it's strained neck muscles plus low pressure in the nasal cavity/ear - your eardrum might be turned in. what's always helped me is a good stretch and blowing through my nose properly (like blowing your nose with both nostrils closed). but it could be something entirely different and i'm just babbling. good luck tho

ah thank you guys for your kind words!! i’m going to see a doctor on monday but i’m still hoping it clears up by itself before then. my boyfriend also raised the possibility that it might be stress related (because i’m having kind of a rough time adjusting/settling in here), but i guess i won’t know for sure until i talk to a professional...
