I have once again written a one shot with an authors note that includes "please don't leave comments asking for more" and you'll never guess what comment I got. As promised, it was deleted.

Trying once again to write hollanov getting outed pre-2017, this time while Shane has only been dating Rose for a little bit, but it's STILL not clicking and I think the problem is that I just don't have the words Shane would use when he's reacting to this. So might need to pivot to Ilya POV for it, or at least the first section.

10 in the fun meta asks for writers, how would you describe your writing process?

10. How would you describe your writing process?

I wish there was one. Mostly I daydream a lot, scribble random vauge things in my notebook or on index cards if I'm feeling really fancy, and write with very little outline because if I already know to much about how it's going to happen I lose interest or get stalled out. I want to have more of a schedule for writing, but that hasn't really happened yet.

I also have a superstition about naming fics too early killing the drive to work on it. So all of my one shot titles are picked as I'm posting. Yes, even the 20k ones I spent over a year working on.

Editing for me is mostly just rereading and hoping I'll catch issues, then looking at it once or twice in ao3's preview before I hit post. Not foolproof, since I've published chapters of NTBWAGs with awful formatting, but it works.

Six Sentence Sunday

Working title of this is Rose-era outing/sex tape fake out

A hand grips his arm, tearing Shane's mind out of a spiral and his gaze away from JJ. "Miles? What—" "We should go." The man says, more serious than Shane has ever heard him. Not that they've talked much in the month or so he and Rose have been dating. It gets Rose and Jiya's attention too, Rose's brows drawing together in confusion and Jiya pulling her cell phone from her bag. Shane once read that Americans reach for their phones, on average, every ninety four seconds.

Bonus points if you get the reference in that last sentence.

Yeah I'm outing Shane and Ilya via botched sex tape during the Rose Landry era to bring out the worst in both of them and make everything worse before it gets better but really this fic is just an excuse to project my hatred of public pianos onto Shane.
