I took a couple photos, both of which I edited to add color. (I tried to use a marker to “stain” it a reddish color physically, but it just smudged off so I just overlayed the color digitally.)

I didn’t actually take any pictures while I was assembling the body (whoops), but here you can see I sketched out Nine and used my sketch as a guide for the size of the materials I used. I glued part of some plastic packaging to the back of some cardboard for the main piece, and cut down paperclips and wire for the… I’m actually not sure what they are.

Extra Details:

- The background is some wrapping paper I think was used on a small box of chocolates. The metallic confetti look seemed appropriate enough to be an abstract representation of space.

- Three of the wirey pieces were cut from the same paperclip, one is from a different, thinner paperclip, and the last was cut down from a wire I took from a take-out container.

- I tried to “sand down” the plastic and cardboard I used so they would adhere better with the glue paste I was using, but they were both a bit too smooth to properly stick. In the end, I couldn’t even figure out how to attach the wires, so I just arranged them, took some pictures, and called it a day! (Although I am considering making little collages for Ten and JUICE as well. I think it would be hilarious if I used the inward side of a juice box to make JUICE.)

- Lastly, there were a lot of tiny scraps I made while cutting things out, and generally a big (small?) mess, which I now have to clean up.

Different versions and extra details below the cut.

First and second are the original inks and a version with colored lines. When I was selecting images I realized it had less contrast, so I wanted to show off the version without the extra coloring.

On the far right is warm-up/initial sketches before I moved on to the final inks. I was using scrap paper because I didn’t want to struggle with perfectionism, hence drawing on “lower quality” paper.

(A friend of mine joked that the math would be part of the lore, like those are the equations they do in their head. In that case, please ignore any egregious errors in my calculations. There’s a spot where I forgot an entire equal sign and it’s kind of embarrassing.)

From @st-peculiar’s post about the kind of armor D3rlord actually wears. (Sorry that it’s still not very accurate to the original skin or the photos, I went heavy on the armor for reasons seen below.)

Heavily inspired by Delicious in Dungeon’s approach to living armor. (From chapter 6 of the manga.) They interlock between pieces of armor, so I purposely chose not to include as much fabric and draw armor that takes up more space.
