Steps to Becoming a Queen // a development drabble
Ellis had successfully shopped his way around Nimbasa City. He’d been working a few extra hours at the Dojo, and had been working a few extra training sessions so he would be able to have a little spare change for today.
Although he’d been saving up for quite some time, Ellis had been procrastinating this day. So that talk Jariel gave him...it was definitely what he needed to hear.
That said, he walked into his house with totes and bags from varying stores; one large and one medium tote bag from the Nimbasa wig shop, and one medium-sized bag from the makeup shop draped onto his left arm, and hanging onto his right arm were three large-sized totes from a clothing shop, and one medium-sized bag from a beauty shop.
“Whew.” He shut the door behind him with his butt, and then began to walk toward his room. He struggled for a bit with his clothing bags, but as soon as he made it to his bed, he plopped the bags onto his bed, and shoveled the handles off of his arms.
“Wow. That stuff got heavy, quick.” He reached up and rubbed his hands together. “Lemme...grab a snack, I’ll put on a movie, and...we’ll get started! Come out, guys!”
Ellis placed his bag down as his Pokemon began to withdraw from their Pokeballs. Out came Chatot, Togekiss and Altaria; Hydreigon and Fuwa Fuwa, followed by Drifloon. All of the Pokemon happily chirped, cooed and gave their affirmations of being happy to be home, getting comfortable in their various areas. Chatot immediately climbed his way up, from Ellis’ bed to perch onto the trainer’s shoulder, before Ellis made his way over to the kitchen, anxiously thinking about what he would do, and how he would do it after his big transformational shopping trip.
It was a representation for him. What had ever been, what currently was, and all the possibilities of what could be. Each wig, each outfit, and each makeup was a staple for him, and with each purchase he made, it was another step toward being unafraid to express himself without worry of others, and toward becoming who he wanted to be, less of what he wanted others to see.
