FanFic Joy & Sadness... SOtKoR
I'm finding myself filled with that sort of contradictory sensation that's equal parts delight (for having read such a brilliant story/stories) while at the same time feeling rather heartbroken (because said brilliant story/stories is/are now complete).
Still Off the Key of Reason has reached its conclusion and I feel like I'm saying farewell to some of my dearest friends. I fell in love with this 'verse from the very first paragraph of Just Off the Key of Reason and that affection, admiration and genuine adoration (hmmm...and seeming desire for rampant alliteration) continued throughout both stories. I fervently hope that ElsBells will be writing some one shots in future so we can visit and catch up with this 'verse's Quinn and Rachel again, because I'm fearing that the withdrawal symptoms are going to be quite a kick in the rubber parts to deal with. However, that may well be a lot to ask because I'm well aware just how difficult and time consuming university can be... Even more so considering her course of study.
At any rate, much luck to you, elly-bells, and I extend a heartfelt Thank You for your brilliant stories... ALL of them. I've recommended your work to more people than I can keep track of and shall continue to do so; just as I shall continue to reread them when I'm in need of a well-crafted pick-me-up. To list just one of the MANY aspects I love about your writing: you have a magnificent gift for banter and dialogue and I simply cannot get enough of it. (I can only wish that I were even a quarter as clever as your characters are. If I were, perhaps I would actually date more frequently!)
At any rate, and in honour of JOtKoR/SOtKoR Quinn and her adoration of critters and critter trivia, I offer this:
The kiwi is the world's only bird that has nostrils at the end of their beak, therefor they are the only bird that hunts by utilizing the sense of smell.
If for some unknown reason anyone perusing this has NOT read these stories I implore you to do so ASAP. You will not be disappointed. Rather, you will be beyond delighted and will experience the bonus treat of learning oodles of critter trivia... which may well help you win many pub trivia games! Always good, that. ;o)
