My skelesona is complete
Last night, I was in the living room while Shel was getting the kiddo to bed. Sheās singing āOld McDonaldā, and heās picking the animals. What do I hear?
Shel: š¶ and on that farm he had aā¦š¶
Elliott: boogers nose!!
Shel: hmm ok. š¶ old McDonald had some boogers in his nose, E I E I O! With a *sniff sniff* here, and an *achoo! achoo!* there⦠š¶
I have a $50ish hoehner harmonica thatās been untouched for over a decade that I lost interest in learning. I saw it in my music stuff box last night. Elliott has been playing a toddler toy harmonica, and generally showing interest in music. So I gave him the good harmonica to try last night. First of all, he is thrilled! Secondly, it sounds GOOD! Like yeah, itās gonna get annoying sometimes, but the sound of him playing it doesnāt instantly grate on me like the harsh shrill toy one. And I can see heās genuinely trying to figure it out. Heās able to play it quiet & loud, get a nice tone, etc, unlike the toy one. Heās having a lot of fun!
Anyway! This is reminding me of a video I watched about trying to use bad art supplies vs good art supplies, and watching the artist struggle to use dollar store crayons on construction paper vs get decent results with crayola on sketchbook paper vs using quality supplies like prisma brand. And seeing how the worst version can really frustrate someone into thinking they arenāt good.
Elliott peepin' at the fairy houses!
