During 2012 we started our demolition works at The Gateway Theatre, 42 Elm Row, Edinburgh, EH7 4AH
The client that we carried out the project for, was Prime Student Housing (Edinburgh) LLP, however we were liaising through the Employers Representative Dickson Powell Partnership Ltd & Susan Stephen Architects Ltd

The works included within the project were as follows:
Secure the working area and complete the protection works (Scottish Power sub-station and Montgomery Street)
Remove the asbestos product as per the demolition survey
Carry out the internal soft strip works in the required areas
Carry out the hand reduction/hand separations works
Reduce the level of the fly tower by Long Reach Machine
Full demolition of the 3 buildings (Building A (Theatre), Building B (Annex) & Building C (Annex) down to the required levels as agreed
Remove the arising materials from off site
Crush on site appropriate brick/concrete to a 6F2 reusable aggregate for
Withdraw all logistics from the site

Below are many different scaffolds that were present through the demolition and separation/reduction works; one set of scaffolding being present at Building A, the protection scaffolding at the Sub Station and the Flying Shore scaffold that was present throughout the demolition works

Various demolition images carried out on Buildings A working from Montgomery Street and Building B being demolished by 2 machines working in conjunction with each other. The hired long reach machine carrying out demolition works from a safe position, with the smaller machine moving materials away from the safe demolition zone. This is to help aid the long reach machine, a much more unhindered, safer working area
