oooooh my gooosh YES please read the vampire academy series. i was apprehensive about it too, having just read and loathed twilight, but it's SO GREAT. the mc is a sarcastic badass and she and her best friend are such amazing friends. the first book is a bit lighthearted but then after that it goes to a much darker (and wonderful) place. i think you would enjoy it! :)

I did see the movie! It wasn’t great but it was entertaining. And I know not to judge a book from its movie. I’ll have to wait a bit because there are so many in the series and I’m the type that likes to own the books she reads
