The Rise of Skywalker

I saw a tweet of mine from two years ago where I was basically predicting the exact contrary of what is happening in this movie and it’s kind of funny. 

It’s the first time, I’m actually writing in this tumblr about any Star Wars movie.

I’ve found a way to not talk about it in this blog and I can’t exactly say why, it’s like I saw the movies like 3 times for the first two and twice for this one and nothing.

It’s kind of crazy. 

I’m not part of the fandom, I talk about the movies with friends, I’m as casual as you can be, I don’t ship anything, I don’t anti ship anything, I just go with the flow until now I guess.

I don’t like this movie, I don’t hate this movie. I enjoyed Force Awakens, I liked The Last Jedi and I find this movie meh.

It’s entertaining...it’s meh. 

I’m just sad because of the lack of imagination and the bad script who tells you everything instead of showing it or it tells you what will happen before showing the moments and it’s bad. Fanservice and nostagia can be such a bad mix. I know some people were living their best lives while seeing so (too) many references to the past movies or having their reddit theory becoming true but all I can think is how lazy it was. 

It’s just sad to watch such an unremarkable movie, it exists, it’s okay because it’s a Star Wars movie, it has a few good shots and that’s why I can’t find in me to hate/dislike it but after that this movie was pretty mediocre. 

If people love it then I’m happy for them, they find what they needed in it, if they hated it, it’s life. 

I just find it so lacking of imagination, it’s just depressing. 

What a waste of good characters.

I swear to God some people in the Star Wars fandom make me want to strangle them. Fanboys are the fucking worst. Why can’t you leave the rest of us who want to love and enjoy the movies in peace, why do you need to try to shit on everything, shut the fuck up entitled assholes. 

Movies are made to escape reality sometimes and we don’t need to hear about how you hate everything because it doesn’t reach the high expectations you had since you were a child. Grow the fuck up. These people are actual fucking adults, that’s the even more annoying part. 

And Rey is not a fucking MARY SUE.

I saw Star Wars last night and it was disappointing.

It has everything to be great but at the end it was only watchable nothing exceptional. 

I saw it with my best friend and except one moment, the rest was kind of predictable and pfff I don’t know the most annoying part is that we saw the potential of the movie and we could see what could have been better. 

I like the movie and I found it enjoyable but disappointing. I didn’t even had huge expectations, I mean I was curious to see it, I really wanted to know what would happen but I didn’t have expectations.

I think the writers based their movie more into the nostalgia of the viewers than doing something new, create a new story with this new trilogy, it felt more like a pseudo remake it felt weird. But I have to say it was pretty beautiful visually. I think I’ve said that most of the time about the movies nowadays but it’s true visually most movies are pretty beautiful but the story is missing something that would made it new. We can love or hate the prequel but at least it felt like it was new and its own story while having an impact in the first trilogy.

So I’m supposed to see it again with my cousin next week so we’ll see if I still feel the same but they are huge chances it won’t change.
