"you know that's... stupid, right? when you've got a sure thing right in front of you?" of all the times in her life to be suddenly modest, elora was picking her moment. seldom was she ever shy but she suddenly felt as such, shrinking in on herself ever so slightly.

despite the fact she was pretty new to the acting scene, elora was with it enough to know the edits she saw on her instagram search page weren’t celebrating the friendship she had with her castmate. honestly, it was kind of cute. a little weird that people translated the chemistry of two characters into their personal lives, but mainly cute. it wasn’t the type of thing that really bothered her… until she paused on one particular edit. it had her scrambling up off of her place on the couch in the apartment space they shared while filming the second season of their show, off in search of the them. “have you seen this?” she called out, brandishing her phone in their face. “someone took a screencap of us in different kissing scenes and merged them together! we look like we’re kissing. that’s like  —  taking it a bit far, right?”

open to anyone. our muses were engaged but it fell through because elora wasn’t ready and left them. they haven’t seen one another in like six months. could be out in public/at an event/club/ect. i’ve been listening to champagne problems.

she knows better than to approach them but before she can stop herself elora’s feet are carrying her in their direction. she’s always been selfish like this. it’s her sheer curiosity that has her closing the space between them, a tentative smile forming on her lips. “hi.” it’s all she can say for a moment before she realises that being the one approaching, she should prompt the conversation. “i... thought i saw you from over there,” she tips her head in the direction from where she came, “how are you?”

“i’ve planned a whole date-day for us and yes, you have to come. my publicist said so.” admittedly, elora’s publicist had only actually said the two of them should be seen outside together that day. the ‘date’ aspect of it was something a little extra that she’d thrown in. another attempt of hers to woo them into actually liking her instead of the two of them continuing to stiffly pretend that this was all real.

“i don’t want your pity.” despite the fact her eyes are full of tears that threaten to spill over any second, elora can’t bear to let them of all people see her cry. she sniffs, rubbing a hand over her rosy cheeks. “just leave me alone.”

college was expensive. stupidly so. elora had always known that it would be and her degree definitely contributed to the rising cost. her degree also made it virtually impossible to get a stable job, causing her to resort to using services like ubereats deliveries and the such to make a little extra cash when she could. it wasn’t really working out in the way she might’ve hoped it would and that was seemingly the case for her roommate too. the unfortunate thing was that they couldn’t pay rent with thin air and so that meant that had to sit down to talk about finances at some point before something ridiculous like their wifi got cut off. that time was now, apparently. “a girl on my course told me she’s started up being a sugar baby. to help make ends meet. she says it’s kind of like acting since she pretend to be whoever she wants around the people she’s with,” she explained, scrunching her nose up slightly. it’s probably a rather weird sounding addition to their ongoing conversation but she was using it as a gateway to her next suggestion. “i don’t think i could do something like that, though. i’m not... a fan of strangers.” faye was quite lucky that elora had taken to her so well, that wasn’t often the case. she’d taken to her well enough to even admit that she liked her which meant she wasn’t looking to have to look for a new roommate any time soon... though she was worried her next suggestion might mke things so awkward that she might want to start looking. “then she mentioned something about like... cam sites. people pay for you to do... stuff. they pay well too, apparently. instant cash. could really help with rent, right?”
