some light practice with my boi, Elrai/Kyroe. Couldn’t decide on one name so now he has both to represent his character change - starts with one, gets a new one, then keeps them both (the exact same thing happened to his eye colour lol). So here is is looking moody and glowing.

So a while ago, I decided to come up with a custom League champion whose gimmick was that her abilities would have different effects based on the order in which you use them. I decided I'd rework her out of boredom tonight, so I present to you: Elrai, the Traveller.

Physical appearance:

A muscular (but not ripped) woman. Young, but scarred and hardened, and fairly unhappy-looking. She is wearing light Noxian battle armor, a half-cape with Demacian colors, and is wielding a very Ionian-looking blade.

Abridged lore:

She's a Noxian soldier, known for her bloodthirst and sharp ability to learn and incorporate new techniques. She's happy being a killer, but decides the Noxian military is running out of techniques to teach her. She gains permission from her commanding officer (Darius) to attempt to infiltrate the Demacian military and learn their techniques. So she assumes a false identity, joins the Demacian military, and spends a few months learning their techniques and methods.

One day she comes across a woman being mugged in an alley. Stepping in, she kills the mugger and sends the woman off on her way. Minutes later, it occurs to her that that action is against everything she should believe (since in Noxus, someone being mugged means they were too weak to defend themselves. Over the next days she begins to question her belief system, and one day she finds herself wholeheartedly singing Demacia's anthem.

This sends her into a spiral of confusion and doubt, as her Noxian pride is a huge part of her identity. But the presence of the young, disabled, elderly, and helpless have opened her eyes to the fact that some people simply can't defend themselves. Lost on what she believes, she leaves Demacia and seeks balance in Ionia. But the methods and teachings do nothing to calm her, instead adding more to the mix of messages in her mind.

Now seeking the truth that lies within her, she fights in the League of Legends with a mix of styles, hoping that the knowledge she seeks is somewhere among the diverse wisdom of those who call it home, and hungry for a battle that can finally challenge her.

But somewhere in the League is a general who is not happy that his best soldier has stopped following orders.

Abilities

NOTE: Elrai has three passive "Focus" buffs. Under normal conditions, these buffs cannot coexist; gaining one will cancel all others.

Passive: Zeal for War When Elrai uses an ability, she gains a small lifesteal percentage that stacks.

Q: Subjugating Sweep: Elrai swings her polearm in a wide semicircle. She then gains Noxian Focus.

If activated while Elrai has Demacian Focus, she gains a shield equal to a percentage of the damage inflicted.

If activated while Elrai has Ionian Focus, all enemies she hits are also slowed for a time.

W: Intercept: Elrai dashes to a friendly target. For a time, both her and the target take reduced damage from all sources. She then gains Demacian Focus.

If activated while Elrai has Noxian Focus, both her and the target gain attack damage and ability power instead of armor and magic resist.

If activated while Elrai has Ionian Focus, her and the target will also gain a decaying movement speed boost for a time.

E: Patient Pursuit: Elrai briefly gains movement speed when approaching an enemy champion. She then gains Ionian Focus.

If activated while Elrai has Noxian Focus, the first enemy she hits will be briefly silenced.

If activated while Elrai has Demacian Focus, she can move through units for a short time.

R: Soul of the World: For a short time, Elrai gains Noxian Focus, Demacian Focus, and Ionian Focus at the same time, and her abilities cost no mana.
