Can we talk about the fact that Elsa’s various hairstyles through both movies correspond to the amount of freedom she is feeling in her life???

Frozen

Coronation day: Tight braided updo, not a single piece loose, no mobility. She’s scared for her life. Afraid of being queen, of showing herself to the world. Scared of hurting Ana.

Let it Go scene: Loose braid but still contained and tied off. More mobility but still limited. She has taken the first step towards her freedom but she is still terrified. She doesn’t know what she wants for sure, she’s still locked down by her fears and doubt but moving slightly for the first time.

Frozen II

Classic Braid for first half

Ocean scene: Takes hair out of braid to put into ponytail. Almost completely free and movable, restrained just the tiniest bit. She has decided to do what she thinks she has been called to do. She’s left everyone to set out on her own and make her own way. She’s still uncertain about her purpose causing just the tiniest bit of hesitation and restriction, but she’s actively moving forward in her life. She’s almost free.

Show Yourself scene: Completely down and loose hair. Not a single piece pulled back. 100% free and natural. And Elsa has discovered her purpose in life. She has finally shed her self doubt and fear to be the person she was meant to and wants to be. She’s finally free. Free from her forced roles and expectations, but most importantly, free from her own self doubt self imposed limitations.

What if the beginning of Frozen 2 is the same night that Frozen 1 begun, only earlier?

We see Iduna singing to them after the kings bedtime story, she puts Anna to sleep and puts Elsa in bed and after that it cuts to the sky outside. And there we see that they’re northern lights. In the beginning of Frozen 1 Anna says that the sky’s awake and she’s too, what if we see a glimpse of the last night they had as a family before the trolls had to erase Anna’s memory of Elsas powers? As further proof we altso hear Anna wisphering to Elsa something about snowmen.

This is just a bit sad seeing that afterwards they get separated and Elsa is forced to isolate her from Anna, like they gave us a look into that last night before things started going bad

su expresión no cambia. sus brazos siguen cruzados sobre su pecho, con un poco más de fuerza que lo normal. quizás si se concentra en la presión que ejerce sobre sí misma no terminará gritando o llorando ( o las dos ) “yo estoy bien. mejor que tú, probablemente” sus ojos buscan los contrarios por primera vez, sin brillar como solían hacerlo “yo no toqué fondo”

‘lo merezco’ y sabe que es así. aunque le duela, sabe que merece el enojo, la rabia — probablemente un golpe también. rehabilitación es una mierda, pero le ha ayudado a poner su vida medianamente en orden, aferrarse a las cosas que le hacen bien, y blonda que tiene en frente encabeza lista de aquel grupo. ‘si sirve de algo, ya estoy limpio’ ha pasado tanto tiempo aferrándose a la idea de que no merece nada bueno, que la ha dejado ir. puede entender si ya no quiere saber nada de él. ‘sé que probablemente me odies, pero quería disculparme por todo. es parte de la terapia’
