Rust!!!!!!!! I’m actually crying!!!!!!! The first ep of hdm was so GOOD! It’s never going to be perfect, and it was quite fast paced but I absolutely adored it, I feel like everything I love is coming to life on screen and I want to CRY 🥺🥺🥺

IT WAS. I actually teared up at the beginning because I genuinely could not believe Lyra was on screen and so herself? I love how Dafne is playing her and the cast so far has been top-notch. 

But hard agree about not everything being perfect. It’s never going to match what we’ve imagined all these years, but I feel like so many of the choices they made and the things they decided to show were clever and a good way of capturing it for people who might not have read the books, like us. 

And yes about everything we love coming to life. It’s been a surreal year for books I’ve read and loved growing up. There’s Good Omens and His Dark Materials, but also The Boys, Watchmen and Stumptown??? 

P.S. Have you read The Book of Dust (La Belle Sauvage and The Secret Commonwealth) yet?

god, i know! neither of them have a leg to stand on really, and i’m expecting them to laugh about the whole thing! although sammie is playing a very dangerous game at the moment - the way she kicked off about her child being used in those drawings and made georgina sad! god the drama is too much!
