You’re back on your way from grocery shopping in Altera, you double check the grocery list Ciel drafted up for you just to make sure you didn’t forget anything.
The amount of fruits and vegetables was very heavy and made it hard to carry but you still wanted to help a friend out.
You turn around and Mastermind almost crashes into you.
“I finally caught up, listen when people talk to you _______!”
You tilt your head curiously, “I didn’t hear you, sorry Mastermind.”
You continue walking, and Mastermind awkwardly walks next to you.
Mastermind usually didn’t like hanging around people, and now that he was in your company, he probably wanted something from you. It wasn’t that you didn’t enjoy the mad scientist’s company, but he was socially awkward at times and he made you easily flustered.
“N-no! I mean yes!” Mastermind waved his hands in front of him and then pulled at his hair as he stumbled to figure out exactly what to say.
“Is that a yes or a no?” His little antics make you smile as you throw him a glance.
Mastermind stepped closer, right into your personal space and you back off a bit, he steps forward again, and this repeats till you’re backed up against the brick wall of a nondescript building. He leans in really close and there’s a million thoughts running through your head. ‘Oh my god is he going to kiss me- I haven’t had my first kiss yet. He’s too close! oh …He’s kind of pretty when he’s not frowning….’
Mastermind suddenly steps back and pulls the groceries out of your arms, muttering to himself.
You run after him as he walks away.
He turns around and this time you bump into him, knocking the groceries out of his hand. Your eyes widen in surprise as apples, ice cream and baking chocolate fly into the air and you land against his chest. He wraps an arm around you as the momentum knocks you both off your feet and onto the floor. His long hair is splayed out behind him and his face is twisted in a expression of pain and concern.
Mastermind sits up and looks you straight in the eye. You’re a bit unnerved, a bit flattered and you can’t keep his gaze so you stare down at his tie. A gloved hand presses against your cheek and you look up at him in surprise. He’s still looking right at you but, there’s something different. He looks flustered.
“I..I need to tell you something”
You look at him with a mixture of curiosity and confusion.
Mastermind bites his lip and his other hand nervously runs through his hair.
“Ikindalikeyou” he murmurs.
Your eyes widen in surprise as he pulls you closer, chest to chest and his lips flush against yours. You can see the desperation in his eyes before those long white eyelashes flutter shut. His lips are warm and you can’t help but moan when his tongue runs over your lips. Mastermind pulls away and wipes his lips, avoiding your gaze.
“I love you.” he whispers, this time loud enough for you to hear.
