hey, i love your blog! is it possible for you to add a tag for fat antagonists and responding to them? i don't want to unfollow you cuz i love the other stuff you post but i find those posts really triggering 💚

Heyo this is mod squirrel, moving forward if we reblog to argue or reblog a thread fighting fatphobes they should be tagged "fatphobes" I try to tag wrangle the blog so if something slips through that's probably on me. 

Additionally if you just want positivity posts you should also try to block the tag "fatphobia" idk how that will work with the blog name however, I think if you don't add the asterisk it should just catch the word by itself. (On Tumblr savior). 

Whenever possible we try to tag content that talks about instances of fatphobia or talking in depth about fatphobia for this reason. It's understandable that you want the good vibes and I hope this helps moving forward!

I was a total nudist until like eleven or twelve. I think most kids grow out of it before then, but I also thing the Nudist Phase is pretty normal. Also, plus side: child is not ashamed of their body?

Oh yeah, she’s fine-- and she’s actually way less of a nudist than most of the kids of my acquaintance. She’d just been allowed to go skinny-dipping in the pool in the backyard, before her bathtime. Which is maybe what made it even funnier-- she’d been fully nude for like, an hour and a half by that point. 

Her best friend’s mom has been trying with mixed success to enforce a bare minimum rule of wearing underpants, at least, in the front yard in their little suburban neighborhood. Farmkid is usually amenable to wearing clothes, though sometimes she insists on pajamas at inappropriate times and suchlike (which, like, also super normal so whatever) and actually asked permission to forego the bathing suit for the pool visit.

Interesting sidenote: Children of that age learning about social distancing and mask-wearing-- Farmkid and her friends have had slight difficulty with the concept of estimating six feet, but have not had any forgetful moments and have been really obedient about keeping their masks on when told to. FK and her BFF (who are in the same quarantine circle) will take their masks outside with them and put them on if they want to talk to people, and then take them off when playing solo together, and then will remember to go retrieve them and put them on again if another visitor comes they want to talk to. (A lot of people come by the farm during CSA pickups, especially, and most of them are people FK has known her whole life and is delighted to see.)

fellow hypermobile, all my sympathies!! my shoulders also sublax if i sleep on them. the most comfy way for me to sleep is on my back (which i can actually do now that i have a cpap machine praise the spirits) because literally any other position means bad pain days to follow. a firm mattress is the very definition of hell tbh!

For a while last night I lay on my face on the carpet on the floor so I’d be in the full stream of air from the fan pulling air in from the hallway window. 

I almost fell asleep there. It’s approximately the same hardness as the mattress. I considered it, and it was only because the wool was scratchy that I bothered getting up into the bed.

I’m too fat to lie facedown, I’ve got too many lumps and bumps so my spine ends up curved. If I lie on my back, my butt makes my spine  have to curve as well-- I don’t even have much junk in my trunk, but even a flat ass of sufficient size makes that tricky. IDK what kinds of pillows I’d use to correct for that.

I mean, ideally, I’d sleep on a yielding surface, but like. One makes do.

Sometimes Bucky looks out their apartment window while Steve is out. He shouldn’t; he knows that it’s only a matter of time until someone sees Steve and can look past his beard and glasses. He knows that it’s only a matter of time until someone sees him and can see the murderer inside of him.

It feels like limbo. It feels like they’re treading water at the end of the world, even though they just stopped the world from ending. Thanos is gone. Everyone but Sam and T’Challa thinks they’re dead.

But they’re here, back in Brooklyn. Steve is at the shop, fixing someone’s old Nissan and should be back within the hour. Bucky will head to work at the distribution center in the morning. It’s like how it should’ve been. It’s nothing like it should be.

Bucky hears the door open but doesn’t move. He hears Steve’s footsteps, the door to their room opening up. “Buck?” Steve asks.

“Hey,” Bucky says, still looking outside. There’s a kid walking hand-in-hand with a woman, probably his mother. He holds a red balloon in his hand, bouncing with each of his happy steps.

Steve comes around and wraps his arms around Bucky’s chest. He leans in and kisses Bucky’s neck. Bucky closes his eyes; he exhales. “Hey Buck,” Steve says in Bucky’s ear, voice just above a whisper.

“Don’t leave,” Bucky says.

“No one could make me.”

Bucky turns around in Steve’s arms. He looks at Steve — at his beard, at his dyed hair, at the ratty clothes he’s wearing. “You’re the best thing I’ve ever seen,” he says.

“Keep looking,” Steve says with a smile. “We’ve got all day.”

“Sure we do,” Bucky says, and before Steve can say anything else he leans in for a kiss.

Ok but was Shuri not fucking amazeballs? HER SASS. HER ROASTS. I want aaaalllllll the fics about her meeting the Spiderman Homecoming characters. Also I don't cry like ever but the final scene with Killmonger? I bawlled. His line was so effective. I'm glad that this movie exists and was created by black people and not white people (because i can attest that we would have ruined it). I don't think I've even seen such a brilliant exploration of racism's effects.

Yes yes and a million times yes to all of this, couldn’t have said it better. This movie was a masterpiece from beginning to end, and god, the way they make everything happen so you connect so much to Erik and to everything he’s saying, how make it clear that despite him being, theoretically, the ‘bad guy’ in the story, he’s so very clearly not THE villain, so NOT the ultimate ‘evil we must defeat’.

I’m sure there’s people a lot smarter and more elloquent than me that’ll manage to put what I’m trying to say into words properly and write tons of awesome meta posts, but the point is this movie’s message was loud and clear, and they delivered it so damn perfectly. Wow.

Also, Shuri absolutely was pretty fucking amazeballs. Shuri was possibly the BEST thing in a movie that’s SO FUCKING GOOD that it makes it practically impossible to pick one favorite thing.

I pretty much ignore that CACW and AOU exist, tbh. imo they both treat the story and characters with disdain, so I have no trouble treating them the same way. AOU is a travesty for Nat's character arc alone (and don't get me started on Clint). Really, Marvel is pissing me off so much. I don't trust them to deliver a good story anymore. The Nick Spencer thing alone is bad enough (I know he's not related to the MCU but it's the same company).

I’m more inclined to be forgiving to CW than I am to AOU simply because there are parts of it I loved, it was far better than AOU, and CW was not the story The Russos wanted to tell. They and Markus/McFeely had to change the movie and the vision they had for it due to Marvel’s no homo intervention after The Russos said they were going to keep Stucky ambiguous. And this was after they had already had to change the movie up to do the CW storyline. Cap3 was supposed to be a direct sequel to Cap2 and in the end it wasnt. So I’m not really as hard on it as I am on The Avengers films because I know it was supposed to be different and had it been done the way The Russos wanted it would have been awesome. 

I know that the CW we got was not what The Russos had intended to give us so I’m more forgiving towards it versus Whedont who both wrote and directed AOU and who had far more creative control due to him being able to leverage the popularity of the first Avengers movie.

So while I ignore the whole of AOU I only ignore parts of CW.

And I am not even gonna get into Nick Spencer because I can’t even begin to fathom why he still has a job. I’m still reeling from the possibility that Magneto is now HYDRA.

I did that about two weeks ago. The constant Events were killing me. And if I wanted the characters I really wanted I had to play every second of every event and pray I got lucky to get them. Or shell out huge amounts of $$$

honestly it was fine at first then they got money grabbing and i was bustin my ass trying to keep up, but the events got too much and too limiting and everything was paywalled and it just got nasty, so i was out lmao
