The Name of the Rose
The Name of the Rose [trailer]
An intellectually nonconformist friar investigates a series of mysterious deaths in an isolated abbey.
It's not subtle, good and evil are clearly marked. The location is a plus.
It's hard not to think of Sherlock Holmes when listening to wise-cracking Connery. I think at one point he even uses the word "elementary". It's entertaining, but it also feels a little out of place compared with the rest of the film.
Who stood out for me was Ron Perlman. He gave a surprising performance.
I liked the conclusion that it's important to be able to laugh at the powerful. You have to mock and ridicule them.
I want to be with my friends! So, I pulled emergency brake, the train stopped and here I am.

For those who do not get it, Elya Baskin (Mr. Ditkovich in Spider-Man) played a terrorist who hijacked Harrison Ford’s (aka Han Solo) Air Force One.
