Baking w/ Them
a/n: I've spent most of today and yesterday baking and decorating a cake, so of course, I was thinking about how a few different players would act, should they have been there. If y'all wanna see anyone else with this idea, let me know!

Auston Matthews:
Okay, so Auston was the one who inspired this, but he’s just been on my mind the past couple of days. Anyway, I firmly believe that this man would be a menace while you’re making something sweet. I think he’s said before that he has a sweet tooth, and honestly, that fits him, I think. He would be all up in your space, trying to get a piece of whatever you’re making. I mean, he’s fully distracting you so that he can get a taste of the cake batter on the counter behind you. The man would come up behind you, acting all sweet. He’d turn you around and sweet-talk you into kissing him; next thing you know, he’s pulling back and sticking a finger covered in cake batter into his mouth. Full stop, he’s gonna do what he has to to be your unofficial taste-tester.
Jack Hughes:
I would, in fact, consider it a Jack Day, so consider this my celebration. He would be similar to Auston, except I just know this man is looming over your shoulder the entire time. You know when dogs sit right in front of you waiting to drop food, so they can eat it? Yeah, that’s Jack. He’s right under your feet, just waiting for you to be done with a spoon or a bowl so he can eat whatever is left in it. The second you’re done with something, he’s snatching it out of your hands. He doesn’t care what it is; if you made it, it’s good.
Joseph Woll:
Now, Jo would be a helper through and through. Except, it would probably be more of a partnership. The two of you can easily work in tandem with one another. You don’t even have to speak. You’d be silently handling utensils back and forth, no sounds except for some music playing softly in the background. He’d definitely be the easiest to work with on this list. He’d be just as enthusiastic about it as you are, too!
Cole Caufield:
I see Cole being somewhat similar to Jo, but it would come with many more distractions. He’d be a good helper, handing you what you needed, following directions perfectly. However, he’d for sure make you stop for dance breaks every once in a while, and pausing periodically for kisses is a must with Cole. He’d just love spending time with you, doing what you love. He’d probably see it as a sort of compensation for you going to so many of his games.
Trevor Zegras:
Now this is someone who would either be really fun in the kitchen or really annoying in the kitchen. It really depends on your preference. He can’t sit still, and everyone knows he can’t be quiet. He’s constantly yapping about one thing or another, and you better expect that this will get messy. He’s gonna throw flour at you and spread icing across your face; there’s no ifs ands or buts about it. Yeah, the cleanup will be a hassle, but he’ll make sure that’s fun, too. If you get splashed with water, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Will Smith:
Will is gonna be all up in your space. It’s a little different from the way Jack would be. Will isn’t waiting on anything (not that he’d say no if you offered). He just likes to spend time with his person. He’d be content just being in your vicinity. He’d offer to help here and there, or if you specifically asked him to do something, he’ll definitely do it. Without your instruction, though, he’s a little clueless. He wouldn’t even have an idea of where to start when it comes to baking, and that’s why he’s so content to just sit near you and watch.
Nico Hischier:
Nico is somewhere in the middle. I don’t see him being overly involved without you asking, but he’s also not just sitting there. I think he’d be the type to tidy up after you rather than help with the actual baking. He’d wipe the counter down, do the dishes, stuff like that. He’s for sure stealing a little taste of whatever you’re making here and there, but he does it in a way that never fails to make you giggle. He stands behind you, pinning you against the counter, but the only thing he’d do is stick his finger in the batter or icing and walk away. Overall, though, he’d just enjoy being able to help you in some way, and even though he’s not much of a baker, that’s not gonna stop him from finding a way to help.
